Order for Trustee Election

Big Spring ISD has issued an Order for Trustee Election to be held on May 3rd, 2025. There are four(4) Trustee positions on the ballot this year: one (1) School Board Trustee from District 2 to serve the remaining two (2) year term, one (1) School Board Trustee from District 5 to serve one full term, one (1) School Board Trustee from District 6 to serve one full term, and one (1) School Board Trustee from District 7 to serve one full term. 

Mr. Jesse Salazar currently serves as the Trustee from District 2. He was appointed to the position in 2024 after no filings for the position were received. Because he was appointed, he must face an election for the position the year.  He is being opposed by Mr. Brandon Falkner.

Mr. Trent Trinidad has served as the Trustee from District 5 since 2022.  He is running again for the full term against two opponents, Mr. Bert Otto and Mr. Adriel Saldivar. Mr. Trinidad currently serves as the Vice President of the Big Spring ISD Board of Trustees.

The current Trustee from District 6, Mr. Alton McGuder, will not be seeking re-election this year. Two candidates have filed to fill the position in this election. Facing off for the Trustee from District 6 position will be Mr. Jon Islas and Mr. Steven Boatenhamer.

The District 7 Trustee is Mr. Fabian Serrano.  He has served as a Trustee since 2014 and currently holds the position of President of the Big Spring ISD Board of Trustees. Mr. Serrano is running unopposed in the 2025 election.

Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted at the Howard County Election Center from 8 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday, April 23rd through Friday, April 25th, and 7 AM to 7 PM on Monday, April 28th and Tuesday, April 29th. Citizens may also apply for ballots by mail.
