NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL REAL PROPERTY AND INVITATION TO BID

The Board of Trustees of the Big Spring Independent School District hereby gives notice to the general public that the District will receive sealed bids from persons interested in purchasing the following real property and improvements, excluding all mineral interest, located at:

Property 1.        1601 Eubanks, Big Spring, Howard County, Texas;

Property 2.        2408 Birdwell, Big Spring, Howard County, Texas; and,

Property 3.        229 Airbase Road, Big Spring, Howard County, Texas, formerly known as the Anderson DAEP Campus

Interested parties may contact Melissa Tarbet, Director of Business Services, Big Spring ISD, 708 E. 11th Pl., Big Spring, TX 79720, phone number (432) 264-3620, extension 1031, to arrange for inspection of either property.

Interested bidders may obtain a bid packet for each property from Melissa Tarbet, at the above address, or from the District’s website at www.bsisd.esc18.net. Each bid packet contains:  a description of the Property, bid instructions and the District’s “Contract of Sale.”  Bidders shall return a completed “Contract of Sale,” with the required earnest money, in a sealed envelope marked “Real Property Bid, Property No.  ___” (insert Property 1, 2, or 3, individually or in any combination) to Big Spring Independent School District, 708 E. 11th Pl., Big Spring, TX 79720.  Sealed bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025. All bids received at or prior to such time will be opened and read aloud immediately following the deadline to submit bids.  Bids received after such deadline will not be opened or considered. The District Administration intends to present bids to the Board of Trustees for review and possible approval of the highest acceptable bid no later than 30 days following the bid deadline. 

Bids must be based on a lump sum cash payment, payable at closing, not more than 30 days following approval of the sale by the Board of Trustees.  Bidders will be responsible for arranging any desired surveys, title insurance, inspections of the premises, and all other “closing costs” without cost to Big Spring ISD.  Bids that specify other payment terms may be deemed non-responsive and may not be considered.  Bids received by fax machine, email or in any other electronic form shall NOT be considered. BIG SPRING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS OR TO WAIVE ANY IRREGULARITIES. 

WAIVER OF CLAIMS:  BY TENDERING A BID TO THIS INVITATION, THE BIDDER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT BIDDER HAS READ AND FULLY UNDERSTANDS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING A BID AND THE PROCESS USED BY THE DISTRICT FOR SELECTING A BEST BIDDER.  FURTHER, BY SUBMITTING A BID, THE BIDDER FULLY, VOLUNTARILY AND UNDERSTANDINGLY WAIVES AND RELEASES ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AGAINST THE DISTRICT AND ITS TRUSTEES, OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES THAT COULD ARISE OUT OF THE ADMINISTRATION, EVALUATION, OR SELECTION OF ANY BID SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS INVITATION TO BID.
