Project Reach

Creating Turnaround Educator Pipelines (CTEP) Opportunity Culture Texas- Big Spring

Big Spring ISD is one of several school districts in Texas working with Public Impact, Education First and Education Service Center, Region 20 to maximize the resources and the skills of exceptional teachers, enabling students to excel. Our goal is to provide all students with excellent teaching so that Big Spring can consistently outperform the state and be a district of choice for families and excellent teachers. Three elementary campuses have redesigned how their teachers and teaching assistants work with students and with each other on teams. Opportunity Culture teams are led by an excellent teacher and schools provide more time for these teams to plan and to learn together. Teachers who take on additional responsibilities, such as leading and developing their team and reaching more students with excellent teaching, receive additional pay. We believe creating these roles and additional pay opportunities will enable Big Spring to attract and retain the great teachers that all of our students deserve.

Excellent Teaching…Every Student, Every Day
