The Happenings for Fourth Grade in the First Six Weeks:

Fourth Grade is learning at a fast pace.

In Math, we will be learning more about place values in both whole numbers and our decimals.  Also, we will learn about perimeter measurements (Parents, need new carpet?  Maybe your mathematician can help!).  We will also be working on our multiplication skills.

In Science, we are Investigating our Universe!  We are studying everything from the weather to the objects in the sky to how the Sun affect our plants, water cycle and the winds.

In Social Studies, we are learning about Native Americans and the Early Texans who shaped the beginning of our great state!

Welcome to Bauer Elementary School 2009-2010. Our Kindergarten students will be introduced to classroom routines as well as people and places in our school community. We will introduce the alphabet and learn the letters and sounds for N and A. We will also introduce the concepts of measurement and time with our calendar in our Math Meeting and learn numbers one through five.      In PE, we are off to a great start, as we are wild about exercise in order to keep our bodies and minds physically fit. This six weeks during PE, all students, grades Kindergarten – Fourth grades, will be doing a daily stretching/exercise routine before jogging or running around the field. Every Wednesday, all of the students will be walking during PE class, as we call it “Walking Wednesday” to help promote student health. Each grade level will be participating in different activities to gain knowledge and skills of different ways to move, and these activities help with the development of social interaction.
